Are you looking for ways to get more involved with the ACLU of West Virginia? Join us as a legal observer!
Since President Trump’s election, there’s been a significant increase in protests across West Virginia and as a result, we’ve received more requests for legal observers. What are legal observers? ACLU-WV legal observers attend rallies, protests, marches and other actions to help ensure that participants’ rights are not violated and act as witnesses if legal action needs to be taken to protect First Amendment rights.
Join us in Huntington as ACLU-WV staff teaches volunteers how to be effective and official legal observers for local protests or marches. We welcome all participants, and no legal background or prior experience is required!
We are searching for legal observers for Huntington Pride on Saturday 6/29. Please attend the training if you are interested in being a legal observer for this event, and feel free to contact Mollie Kennedy at [email protected] with questions.
