Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 8, is Election Day. If you haven't voted already, we know that you will be at your polling place tomorrow voting for candidates that will protect and expand civil liberties for all.
With your support we have been working to protect people's access to the democratic process this election season.
- We won a ground breaking lawsuit which enfranchised thousands of West Virginians.
- We've educated voters so that they know their rights at the polls.
- We went to court to protect citizens' right to run for office.
- We've ensured that pre-trail detainees and people incarcerated for misdemeanors can exercise their right to vote.
- We've provided advice to international election observers.
- And we are fighting the threat of voter intimidation and misinformation.
Tomorrow, from 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m., the ACLU of WV will be manning a special Election Day hotline designed to protect people's right to vote. If you or anyone you know is experiencing problems at the polls, call us at 304-345-9262and we'll be ready to help.
When the votes have been counted and the smoke has cleared, what comes next? Join us for a Town Hall Meeting to discuss the results of the election and the challenges and opportunities to West Virginians' civil liberties going forward.
