America is not a Christian nation, but a concerted Christian Nationalist agenda that is taking root here in West Virginia aims to change that.
A slew of bills forcing religious instruction into our public schools have been taken up this session and are dangerously close to becoming law. These bills, modeled on legislation pushed by a Christian Nationalist movement known as Project Blitz, are bound to expose our schools to costly litigation and result in discrimination of religious minorities.
Today, THREE of these bills advanced toward the finish line. We need you to call your legislators and tell them to focus on the real problems that West Virginia faces. Tell them that religious instruction is the job of faith leaders and parents/guardians, NOT public schoolteachers.
Tell your senator to vote NO on HB 4807 and 4069, and tell your delegates to vote NO on SB 42.
