Appalachian Queer Youth Summit (AQYS) members shared a letter with Governor Justice asking for a veto on HB 3293, the transgender athlete ban.
AQYS members are made up of LGBTQ+ high school students from across West Virginia interested in learning to engage in the political process and advocate for issues they care about, particularly LGBTQ+ rights.
The group has expressed great concern for this bill throughout the legislative process, and wanted to share their concerns with Governor Justice in hopes that he would veto this cruel bill. You can read their full letter below.
If you'd like to get involved you can:
- Sign our petition to Governor Justice to veto HB 3293
- Call the Governor's office at (304) 558-2000 and tell the Governor to veto HB 3293
