You read it right! It’s time to mark your calendars for a highlight of each legislative session, the All Kinds Are Welcome Here Lobby Day! We hope to see you on Wednesday, Jan. 23 to celebrate our fourth annual Lobby Day at the Capitol with incredible organizations from all over the state.
In what’s sure to be one of the most important political years of our lifetime, it’s important to stand together in solidarity to let them know that West Virginia should be a place that welcomes and respects all people.
We’ll be hosting an Advocacy Training online prior to Lobby Day - stay tuned for more details on this. This training will make sure you’re comfortable talking to legislators about issues that are most important to you.
We’ll begin checking people in at 9 a.m. outside of the Senate Chamber, where guests will be able to chat with all of the partner organizations about issues they’re working on in 2020. After catching up with all of your favorite organizations at their tables, join us at 10:15 for a Press Conference featuring Loretta Ross, one of the co-founders of the reproductive justice movement, along with legislators and representatives from partner organizations. We'll then be viewing a floor session from the House and Senate Galleries at 11am. Following floor session, you'll have the opportunity to speak with your legislators during scheduled constituent meetings (get registered here).
Help us send a message that all kinds are welcome here in West Virginia! We hope to see you on Jan. 23, so get registered and invite your friends today!
