ACLU-WV and Kanawha County Public Library to Host Media Literacy Panel

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – ACLU of West Virginia is excited to announce an upcoming panel discussion on media literacy to be held at in room 311A of the Kanawha County Public Library on from 2:00pm to 4:00pm on Saturday 28, 2024.
The panel discussion, titled “Media Literacy: Staying Afloat in a Sea of Misinformation,” will feature discussions with panelists on identifying misinformation, the role of media ownership on news reporting, and the impact of social media on how we get our news.
The discussion will be moderated by the ACLU of West Virginia’s Investigative Reporter Kyle Vass. Panelists for the discussion are Mountain State Spotlight’s Duncan Slade, West Virginia Watch’s Amelia Ferrell Knisley, and Marshall University’s Dr. Robert Rabe.
This event is held in support of the American Library’s Association and Amnesty International’s Banned Books Week which runs from September 22 through 28, 2024. No need to RSVP, and refreshments will be provided.
